Laser Hair Removal

IPL is an abbreviated form of Intense Pulsed Light. The light causes the hair follicle to lose its' moisture, resulting in the follicle to decrease in size and enter it's resting phase. Focused Energy allows for the light to detect hair follicles, making IPL an effective hair removal method.

At Satin Touch Skin and Laser, we were sure to consider having a machine which helped our clients feel comfortable and ready for laser. This is why we use a top-rated IPL machine with an advanced built-in cooling system. The cooling system allows for the light to cool as it releases from the machine crystal. Having a built-in refrigeration system also allows for the machine to cool your skin when in works. This allows the light/laser to be relatively 'painless' when compared to other IPL machines.

IPL may not be suitable for darker skin types as pigment/melanin is found in both hair and skin. This can make it difficult for IPL technology to differentiate between the two pigments and increase chances of discolouration.

All types of laser hair removal may also not be advised for those who are:

- pregnant

- breastfeeding

- on certain skin-related prescribed medications

- recently tanned

After the procedure, the area treated may be slightly pink or red. It is highly advised to avoid excess heat to the body including hot showers/water, steam, saunas, and exercise for a minimum of 2-3 days. Using a minimum of SPF 30 in direct sun is also always advised.
